Welcome to Norwich Ukulele Society, the community group serving ukulele players and singers throughout Norwich and its surrounding area. Explore this site to find out who we are and what we do, or just come along and visit us at our next Sunday evening meeting. Just bring a ukulele!
Meeting dates, gigs, busks and venue.
NUS meets fortnightly on Sunday evenings from 5-7pm at the Coachmakers Arms, usually upstairs but sometimes downstairs. If you have mobility issues with stairs, please let us know.
We also busk monthly for charity on Saturdays 1-2pm, usually outside Jarrolds. We post set lists for each busk a week in advance here, by email and on our Facebook group, NUSplayers. We have an events calendar here.
Our music
We play and sing an ever-expanding range of music from the past 125 years. This includes many ukulele standards from the 1960s-1990s, but an increasing number from the 21st Century. Songs are uploaded to Dropbox folder and most players access them from tablets. If that is a mystery to you, come and see us – we are always willing to share.
Joining
Current membership costs £15 a year which covers Sunday sessions, and our insurance for busks and gigs. Come along for free for your first two Sunday sessions. We ask that you buy a drink from the pub, which kindly lets us use their spaces for free. If you are unable to afford the membership fee, please speak to the Treasurer in confidence and it will be waived.
Join online here, or cheaper/better with cash in person on a Sunday.
Charity support
NUS currently supports East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) by busking once a month and by donations from gigs. In 2025, we raised more than £700.
